someday v.s. some day

someday 和 some day 都是「某一天」的意思，但用法有差別。

someday 指未來某一天(不確定哪一天)。

some day 指過去或未來的某一天。

a number of v.s. the number of

a number of 意指 若干的；很多的 動詞必須用複數。

ex. A number of books are missing.

the number of 意指 數目；總數 動詞用單數。

ex. The number of the students in our class is forty-five.

see a movie 指在電影院看電影

= go to a movie

= go to the movies

2:15  two fifteen ;  a quarter past two

2:30 two thirty ; half past two

2:45 two forty-five ; a quarter to three

half an hour = a half hour 半小時

one and a half hours = one hour and a half 1小時半
